DiscGearHQ is a reader-supported website. This page explains how we earn money so you can decide how much to trust our recommendations. We publish it because the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires it — and because you deserve to know.
Affiliate links
Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, the retailer pays us a
small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or go to the store directly.
Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" in the page code and usually appear as "Check Price" buttons.
Amazon
We are not in the Amazon Associates Program and we earn nothing from Amazon. We quote Amazon's prices in articles and in our price index because leaving out the biggest retailer would make a price comparison useless, but those mentions are not links and they pay us nothing. Where Amazon is the cheapest or the only place to buy something, we say so anyway.
Other affiliate programs
We also earn commissions through the affiliate programs of specialty disc golf retailers and manufacturers. Programs we currently belong to:
- Infinite Discs — "Check price at Infinite Discs" buttons; the link carries a tracking code and a purchase within 72 hours earns us a commission.
- Layout (gloves) — our link gives you a discount code and earns us a referral commission.
This list is updated whenever we join a new program.
How affiliate income affects our content
- It doesn't decide what we recommend. Products are ranked on specs, value, durability and the consensus of experienced players — not on commission rate.
- We list products that don't have affiliate links when they're the best option, and we list the cons of every product we recommend.
- We don't accept payment for positive reviews. If a brand ever sends us a product for review, we'll say so in that article.
- We don't accept "sponsored" rankings. Any sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such at the top of the page.
Advertising
We may display advertising (for example through Google AdSense or a premium ad network). Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content, and ads are visually separated from our reviews.
